Mumbai: The Maharashtra Postal Circle held a special ceremony at the Mumbai GPO to honor the winners of the DhaiAkhar Letter Writing Competition and the Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana 2024-25. The event was attended by Amitabh Singh, the Chief Postmaster General of Maharashtra and Goa Circle, along with Jayati Samaddar, GM (Finance), and Suchita Joshi, Postmaster General of the Mumbai Region.
This year, an impressive 107,386 participants from across the Maharashtra Circle took part in the DhaiAkhar Letter Writing Competition, showcasing remarkable talent in this classic form of communication. Out of these, 12 outstanding entrants were honored with prizes totaling Rs. 1,60,000 for their exceptional work.

Moreover, the Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana, which aims to promote philately, granted scholarships of Rs. 6000 each to 40 deserving students in recognition of their significant contributions to stamp collection.
During the event, Amitabh Singh shared his enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled to acknowledge and reward the talented young minds involved in these initiatives. Their passion and creativity shine a light on the future of letter writing and philately. These initiatives emphasize the value of preserving traditional communication methods while encouraging innovation among the youth.”
The Indian Postal Department remains committed to promoting literacy, creativity, and an appreciation for philately through such innovative programs, inspiring the younger generation to delve into the art of letter writing and stamp collecting.
