Mumbai: A new step towards Digitalisation: Mumbai gets its first digital bus! On Wednesday, Maharashtra State Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray, inaugurated the city’s first completely digital bus.

With a unique ‘Tap-in Tap-out’ feature. city’s first digital bus commences On the Gateway of India to Churchgate route.

Mr Thackeray said “Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) is India’s first bus service to go completely digital.

“The implementation of 10 digital buses will be on this route in a few days and later on it will expand on all 438 routes across the city,”

With the aim to increase digitalization of the bus ticketing system and to enhance comfort of the traveller.

The traveller just needs to use their smart cards or chalo mobile app and place their cards on the sensor.

They will get their receipt on smartphone, if they tap out using the app while exiting the bus.

Initially, the  feature ‘Tap-in Tap-out’  will be available in two buses only, but service providers are likely to deploy this digital bus service on 200 routes in the city.

Many who travelled in the bus found it quite amusing and appreciate the state government effort.

As it a new and much important step towards Digitalisation, and much needed thing right now in Mumbai.

And they said it much important step to enjoy hassle and quarell free journey as there is no ticket-checker.
