Mumbai: Wr commissions new foot over bridges at dahisar & vile parle stations. Western Railway has successfully undertaken various infrastructural upgradation and augmentation works for the convenience of passengers. In continuation to this, additional two new Foot Over Bridges have been recently commissioned at Dahisar & Vile Parle stations, for the convenience as well as safety of passengers.
According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer, Western Railway, two new FOBs have been commissioned in the Mumbai suburban section, one at Dahisar & the other at Vile Parle. The new North FOB commissioned at Dahisar station is 53.85 meters long & 10 meters wide and has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 5.23 crores. Similarly, a 6 meter wide & 55 meter long new Foot Over Bridge has been commissioned at Vile Parle station. It connects the East side staircase, PF No 1/2 and West side skywalk alongwith the connections with north side old FOB above PF no 1/2, 3/4 & 5/6. The FOB has been constructed at a cost of 2.80 crores and Wr commissions new foot over bridges.
Shri Thakur stated that safety of passengers has been accorded top priority and the works of FOBs, ROBs, etc. are being carried out at fast pace. These efforts will go a long way to control the menace of trespassing as well as combat the problems such as overcrowding on bridges, etc.
