Mumbai:- The Maharashtra NCC Wins Highly Commended Award at The Republic Day Parade Camp!!!. The National Cadet Corps (NCC) contingent of Maharashtra Directorate comprising 57 cadets won the prestigious Prime Minister Banner at the recently concluded Republic Day Camp (RDC 2022) for standing first overall in addition to winning a rich haul of Trophies and Medals. The Maharashtra Directorate won the best directorate trophy after a gap of seven years, after being Runners-up in the last two editions of the camp. The contingent returned to Mumbai on completion of Republic Day activities on 30 Jan 2022.
Lt Gen HS Kahlon, SM General Officer Commanding Maharashtra Gujarat & Goa Area felicitated the 57 NCC Cadets of Maharashtra Directorate in a ceremony organised at the Gun House, Colaba Military Station, Mumbai.
As a customary practice, the event was conducted on 31 Jan 2022 to felicitate the cadets. The General Officer interacted with the NCC Cadets, who shared their experiences of the event at New Delhi. Felicitation of these young and vibrant NCC cadets by GOC MG & G Area, boosted the morale and enthusiasm of the cadets and significantly enhanced the visibility of the NCC. The event was attended by Maj Gen YP Khanduri, Additional Director General, NCC Dte Maharashtra, senior Officers & staff of All three Wings of NCC along with the officials from HQ MG & G Area of Indian Army.
Also, Vice Admiral Ajendra Bahadur Singh, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command (FOCINC, West) hosted the National Cadet Corps (NCC) contingent of Maharashtra Directorate at the Navy House, Mumbai, and interacted with the cadets and the staff. The NCC Maharashtra Contingent comprising 57 cadets won the prestigious Prime Minister Banner at Republic Day Camp 2022 for standing first overall in addition to winning a rich haul of Trophies and Medals.
During the At the Home function, the CinC and Mrs Charu Singh, President Navy Wives Welfare Association (Western Region) [NWWA (WR)] interacted and encouraged the NCC cadets to join the armed forces. The CinC also felicitated the prize winners and awarded Command scholarships to six meritorious cadets for their all-round performance during the academic year 2020-21. Senior officers of HQWNC, ADG NCC Directorate Maharashtra, Group Commanders, officers, and Staff of NCC with spouses were present for the occasion.
