Science unravels a hidden world that is intimately related to the world perceived by the senses. However, science is not merely intellectual, it is also beautiful, sublime and mysterious. The aesthetic aspect of science is an inspiration for artists. Capturing the profound and subtle beauty of science is a satisfying artistic pursuit; a fusion of science and art at
conceptual and philosophical levels. The exhibits will be accompanied by write-ups in simple language explaining the scientific context. The sculptures are hand-built with clay. Beginning with a scientific idea, they evolve to find a balance between aesthetic and scientific content.Sukant Saran is a scientist turned artist at TIFR. He has previously held five exhibitions of abstract and digital works. Since 2010 he has been engaged in sculpting.
