Mumbai: Maharashtra Postal Circle released a special Cover for awareness regarding protection and conservation of Mangroves. Hon’ble Chief Minister and Dy. Chief Minister did the honours. Sonneratia alba is one of the 20 species of mangroves seen along the coast of Maharashtra.
This species commonly known as ‘Sweet-scented Mangrove Apple’ was declared as ‘State Mangrove Tree’ by the Government of Maharashtra on 22nd September 2020. This initiative has helped to raise awareness about importance, conservation and protection of mangroves.
Maharashtra Postal Circle issued a Special Cover on 26th July, 2022 on Sweet – scented Mangrove Apple Sonneratia alba Maharashtra State Mangrove Tree for awareness regarding protection and conservation of Mangroves.
