Mumbai: IMD issues Grave Warning regarding Heatwave in Mumbai and other district of Maharashtra. IMD issued heatwave warning for the next 24 hours, with temperatures expected to soar to 39 and 40 degrees Celsius in respect to Mumbai’s weekly weather forecast.

The yellow alert has been issued for north Konkan, Thane, Mumbai , and Raigad.

On Sunday IMD’s Santa Cruz recorded a maximum temperature of 38.6 degrees Celsius which is a screeching six degrees above normal level.

The most affected will be the vulnerable who are below six years old and our senior citizens, pregnant women, and people with other serious conditions and they should take extra precautions in this heatstroke.

One should only wear light colour use umbrellas, wear sunglasses take frequent cold showers and eat drink vitmanin and mineral rich food and drink especially buttermilk and avoid harmful thing which can reduce body water level and avoid going outside as much as possible.

The IMD has released a detailed district-wise forecast and warnings till March 16 in Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts.

The heatwave conditions in these districts are likely to ease by Thursday, IMD said.

We have issued a severe heatwave warning for the regions of Northern Konkan which includes Palghar, Mumbai, and Thane. For March 16, we have issued a heatwave warning for the entire Konkan region,” an official said.

As per the IMD, a severe heatwave in a coastal station, like Mumbai, is declared when the daytime maximum temperature is above 37 degrees Celsius.
