Mumbai: Governor Koshyari releases souvenirs of General Bipin Rawat. Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has said the youth of India should draw inspiration from the life of General Bipin Rawat and come forward to join the armed forces. This according to him would be the best tribute to the late first Chief of Defence Staff.

 

The Governor was speaking at the release of a souvenir on the life and work of General Bipin Rawat at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Thursday (28 April).

 

The Souvenir containing the biographical sketch and articles on General Rawat has been published by Uttaranchal Mahasangh, Mumbai, an organisation of the people of Uttarakhand origin living in and around Mumbai.

 

The Governor said, Uttarakhand has the distinction of giving the nation brave sons like General B C Joshi and first CDS General Bipin Rawat. He said alongside the Gorkha regiment, the Garhwal and Kumaon regiments are in the forefront of countering any challenge to the nation’s security coming from its eastern border. He appealed to the youths to give their best to the nation in whatever area they are working.

 

Member of Maharashtra State Legislature Mangal Prabhat Lodha, President of Uttranchal Mahasangh Anandi Gairola, Mahendra Singh Gusain and Kusumlata Gusain were present.
