Mumbai: General Manager, Central Railway inspects Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial Railway Hospital, Byculla. Shri Alok Kansal, General Manager, Central Railway carried out inspection of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial Railway Hospital, Byculla on 29.6.2021.
Keeping in mind the improvement of the healthcare facilities at the hospital, several machines have been procured in the last couple of months and installed for the benefit of the railway employees.
Shri Kansal inaugurated the fully air conditioned and well equipped “Heart Station” dedicated to OPD Cardiological services with state-of-the-art “Computer Assisted Stress Exercise Electrocardiography System (TMT Machine)”.
Shri Kansal also inaugurated Super Specialty OPD services dedicated to Seven super specialties like Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Pulmonology, Nephrology, Neurology, Gastroenterology & Hematology. He also inaugurated the renovated and upgraded fully air conditioned Department of Dental, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery equipped with modern state-of-the-art equipment like Advanced Dental Chair Unit, a high end OPG machine (upgradable for CT Scans), Glass Bead Sterilizers, etc. He inspected the high output well equipped fully air conditioned procedural OPDs of Eye, ENT & Skin as well as the Oxygen Manifold Room of the Hospital along with the hospital kitchen. General Manager enquired about the provision of Cochlear implant machines, hearing aid, etc., and directed concerned officers to process on the fast track.
The General Manager has taken a keen interest in providing better services to the railway staff, emphasizing on reduction of referral expenditure and more in-house treatment.
Shri Kansal reviewed the progress of the Civil and Electrical Works of the G+6 Super Specialty Building as well as the Installation of the Medical Gas Pipeline & Suction System (MGPS) with the provision of the 10 KL Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) Plant and the 960 Litre Per Minute Oxygen Generation Plant during the inspection.
Shri Kansal announced awards for the Hospital team for their efforts towards healthcare, the Stores & Accounts branch of Headquarters for procurement of the state-of-the-art medical equipment, and Mumbai Division for the renovation work carried out to provide new facilities.
The General Manager was accompanied by Sr. Deputy General Manager (Nodal officer for Hospital Monitoring Group), Principal Chief Medical Director, Medical Director of the Hospital, and Divisional officers during the inspection.
All Covid Protocols & norms were strictly followed during this inspection.
