Mumbai: General Manager Central Railway Flags Off Mount Nun Mountaineering Expedition – 2022. First time Railways team to attempt 7,135 meter climb on Mount Everest.
Shri Anil Kumar Lahoti, General Manager Central Railway flagged off the Mount Nun Mountaineering Expedition today. This expedition to climb Mount Nun in Himalayas planned by Central Railway Adventure Sports Club (CRASC) on the occasion of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. Shri Manoj Shar, Chief Administrative Officer (Construction) and President Central Railway Sports Association, and Team CRASC were present on the occasion.
The Team of CRASC Shri Hemant Jadhav, Chief Office Superintendent from Engineering Branch of Mumbai Division (Leader) and Shri Sandeep Mokashi, Office Superintendent from Centralized Electrical Training Institute of Thakurli will proceed for this expedition. The team will aim on climbing Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world, next year. This expedition will take place from August 8 to September 6, 2022.
Mount Nun, situated in the Sur Valley in Ladakh region, is known to be very tough and cold. The height of this peak is 23,409 feet (7135 mtrs) from the sea level. This is known as Pre-Everest Expedition.
This team has so far organized campaigns at many forts in Maharashtra to educate the young minds about the value of trekking and forts. Additionally, they have carried out numerous rescue missions that have saved many lives, and the team engages in a variety of activities such as assisting in disaster zones, planning cycling campaigns, and educating people about the significance of cycling.
