Mumbai: Financial Inclusion & Development Department, Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai, and Regional Office organized fisherman camp. A camp of fishermen was organised on March 15, 2022 by Financial Inclusion & Development Department, Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai, and Regional Office.
It was arranged to create awareness about RBI’s Financial Literacy activities and it took place in the office of Fisheries Survey of India, Sassoon Dock, Colaba, and Mumbai.
Smt. Kalpana More, General Manager, FIDD, RBI, MRO was the Chief Guest for the event. Shri Sanjay Patil, Asstt. Commissioner, Department of Fisheries, Maharashtra State and Mr. Ramdas Sandhe, Chairman, Maharashtra Rajya Macchimar Sahakari Sangh Ltd. Were also present for the event along with Shri Sanjay Kesarkar, LDM, Mumbai.
Smt. Kalpana More, GM briefed the purpose being organizing the event. She also appealed for a need of a separate camp for creating awareness about various schemes of credit to fishermen community.
Shri Sanjay Patil appreciated the efforts taken by RBI in making an arrangement of such camp especially for fishermen.
The queries raised by a few participants were answered satisfactorily by Smt. More, Shri Patil and Shri Sandhe., Shri Kokare, Shri Bajla, Shri Dattareya and Smt. Sujata Desai (Officers from RBI) took sessions on Government Sponsored Schemes, digital payment, foreign exchange related information and security features of bank note respectively.
