Mumbai:- Central Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (CRWWO) Conducts Tree Plantation Drive at CSMT Station. The Central Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (CRWWO) took another step towards fostering environmental sustainability and beautification by organizing a tree plantation drive near the garden of Platform No. 18 at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) station on the 13th of July 2023 at 3.30 pm. The tree plantation drive was graced by the presence of President, CRWWO, Shrimati Shobhna Lalwani; Vice-President, CRWWO, Shrimati Niti Singh; Secretary, CRWWO, Shrimati Neeru Arora; Treasurer, CRWWO, Shrimati Priti Shrivastav and several other executive members of CRWWO and were actively engaged in the event, lending their support and setting an example for the community. The event was organised in celebration of World Environment Day 2023.
During the event, various tree species were planted, adding to the lush greenery surrounding Platform No. 18 at CSMT station. The tree species included Awala (Indian Gooseberry), Son Chafa, Plumeria alba, Lagerstroemia, Alstonia, Ashoka, Ixora Singapuri, Nerium, Areca Palm, and Spathodea. These carefully selected species will not only enhance the aesthetic appeal but also contribute to environmental conservation and provide a healthy ecosystem for the station and its surroundings.
Shrimati Shobhna Lalwani, President, CRWWO expressed her gratitude to all the participants and highlighted the importance of tree plantation drives in creating a greener and healthier environment. She emphasized CRWWO’s dedication to contributing to the well-being of its members, while also actively engaging in initiatives that make a positive impact on society.
