Mumbai: Brace by Kamran Ansari helped the Central Bank of India beat Mumbai Customs in the Elite Division Corporate Football league. Young Players of the Central Bank Of India once again performed well and defeated their ace rivals – Mumbai Customs by 2 Goals to Nil in the Elite Division Corporate Football league match played at the Neville Dsouza ground at Bandra Mumbai under the banner of The Mumbai Football Association.
In the evenly contested match, both CBOI and Customs players could not score any goals in the first half of the match, since the defenders and goalkeepers of both the teams thwarted goal-bound moves to keep the score line 0-0. Within 10 minutes of the start of the second half, CBOI got the lead by a brilliant header goal scored by their regular goal scorer Kamran Ansari. Spirited players of Custom came back into the game but could not find the net, at the same time young CBOI players created goal-scoring opportunities, and once again their consistent and opportunist striker Kamran Ansari scored his second goal in the match to make the score line 2 nil for CBOI and brace by his help CBOI won.
CBOI players played all out and with determination till the end of the match and won their match by 2 goals to nil against Mumbai Customs. CBOI has played 7 matches and has gathered 16 points in the tournament.
