Bhutan Parliament Speaker wants tourism ties with Maharashtra
A high level led by the Speaker of the National Assembly of Bhutan Wangchuk Namgyel met Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai on Wed (8 Feb).
Speaking on the occasion, Speaker Wangchuk Namgyel called for strengthening tourism ties with Maharashtra. He said India as also Maharashtra has many sites related to Buddhism which are of interest to the people of Bhutan. Stating that Maharashtra is home to the famous Ajanta and Ellora caves, he felt that tourism cooperation with Maharashtra will help people from both sides to visit each other.
Chairpersons of various parliamentary committees of Bhutan and members of parliament were present.
