New Delhi, Sep 15: “When you martyr as a suicide bomber, you will be welcomed by Bollywood actresses in ‘Jannat’ (Paradise), besides the river of wine,” thats what the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) tells its young recruits from Pakistani madrasas.

A video made by the French media France24 is going viral on social media. In this video clip, a Pakistan Army officer is giving a tour of one of the TTP’s safe houses, which has been converted into a museum. It houses items collected from various military operations against the TTP.

“There were at least 300 of such safehouses of different sizes in North Waziristan,” the officer says. “We have collected all the equipment and objects taken from their caches in this museum.”

In this short video clip, posted on Twitter, the Pakistani army officer is showing the captured American Humvee from the TTP. Then he takes the camera crew to a room where young recruits were brainwashed by the militant group.

“In this room, they have depicted a complete picture of paradise which will is supposedly waiting for the young suicide bomber. The young boy who is to become a suicide bomber was brought here and kept for a few days. He was told that when he will open his eyes in heaven rivers of wine and beautiful women will greet him with their open hands,” said the officer pointing pictures of Bollywood actresses like Rani Mukherjee, Kajol among others on the wall.

“This is so funny, so tragic, I can’t even…. I mean kafir actresses and rivers of alcohol? All will offer in eternity everything banned in this life to these poor kids who blow themselves up,” says Pakistani journalist Gul Bukhari on Twitter.

The video clip is part of the news report titled “A long road to peace: Pakistan’s tribal areas” made by France 24.

“As the Taliban once again take control of Afghanistan, we take you to a place where their members have often found refuge. Located on the Afghan border, the tribal areas of Pakistan have long been destabilised by radical Islamist groups who operated there with impunity, since Pakistani law did not apply in the region,” says the report.

Amid the cheering victories of the Afghan Taliban, the Pakistani military establishment is nervous. There have been more than a dozen attacks by the TTP or Pakistan Taliban on the Pakistani security forces including six strikes by the suicide bombers killing more than 30 Pakistani security personnel.

Pakistan has recently asked the Taliban to force TTP fighters to surrender their arms in exchange for amnesty but the Taliban responded that it would not hand over TTP members and told the Pakistani agencies that the issue of TTP is not for Afghanistan to resolve but “must be sorted out by the Pakistani government and its religious Ulemas.”

The Taliban leaders reiterated that Taliban’s stance is that Afghan soil will not be used by anyone to destroy the peace of another country.

But Pakistan’s military establishment is worried, and it is reflected in the statements of the Pakistani army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa who is under tremendous pressure from their “iron brother” China after the increasing attacks on CPEC projects and its Chinese workers.
