*Central Railway generates revenue of Rs 81.64 crore from disposal of scrap during April to June 2023*

• Central Railway has continued its relentless efforts towards achieving “Zero Scrap Mission” to ensure each Division, Workshop and Shed is free from scrap materials.

•*Central Railway generates revenue of Rs 81.64 crore from disposal of scrap during April to June 2023*. The scrap sale in June-2023 is Rs.36.35 crore and accordingly cumulative sale for the period April to June-2023 is Rs.81.64 crore which is 36.06% higher than the proportionate target for the period April to June-2023. The annual target is Rs.300 crore.

• This has put Central Railway at No.1 in 10 out of 22 parameters in criteria for Pt.Govind Ballabh Pant Shield for 2023.

• The sale of scrap has been done at various locations on all 5 divisions of Central Railway viz.Mumbai ( Matunga Workshop), Pune, Solapur, Bhusaval and Nagpur.

• The major items of scrap that are sold include EMU Coaches, ICF Coaches, Locomotives, Wagons and other scrap. *Central Railway generates revenue of Rs 81.64 crore from disposal of scrap during April to June 2023*

*E-procurement System*

• Government e Market(GeM), a unique online e-procurement system operation on Central Railway has ensured smoothness and transparency in procurement of Materials and the related financial transactions.

• It is a platform which provides equal opportunities to Vendors across India. It offers the Organization the medium to choose the lowest offer with high quality after closely checking the technical criteria. It also has led to a considerable saving of revenue for Central Railway.

• The procurement through GeM, for the period April to June-2023 is Rs.110.89 crore(Rs.31.94 Cr for Goods & Rs.78.95 Cr for Services).

• Due to this system, the Materials Management section has maintained 100% availability of Safety & Passenger Amenity items, thus ensuring “ No Shortage of Safety Materials”
