The Ministry of Ayush marked World Homoeopathy Day 2025 with grandeur, hosting a transformative two-day convention at the Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. This event commemorated the 270th birth anniversary of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, the pioneering founder of Homoeopathy, and served as a testament to India’s leadership in traditional medicine systems.

Organized through premier institutions—the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy, the National Commission for Homoeopathy, and the National Institute of Homoeopathy—the convention brought together over eight thousand delegates from India and abroad. Participants ranged from academicians and clinicians to researchers and industry professionals, all united by the shared goal of fostering Homoeopathy as an integral element of global and national healthcare systems.

The convention was inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel alongside Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Ayush and Health & Family Welfare. Rushikesh Patel, Gujarat’s Health Minister, and senior Ayush officials also graced the event, enhancing its significance.

Bhupendra Patel lauded Homoeopathy’s growing impact on healthcare, expressing pride in Gujarat’s role in advancing traditional medicine, especially as home to the World Health Organization’s Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in Jamnagar. Patel emphasized the relevance of integrating Homoeopathy into public health services, calling it a scientific and evidence-based therapy capable of transforming healthcare outcomes.

Prataprao Jadhav reaffirmed India’s commitment to expanding Homoeopathy through innovation in research, education, and public outreach. He praised the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy for its pioneering efforts in standardizing Homoeopathic medicines and preserving botanical knowledge. In particular, Jadhav highlighted the digitization of over seventeen thousand herbarium sheets as an achievement emblematic of the Council’s dedication to advancing the field.

Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush Rajesh Kotecha presented an impassioned keynote speech, honoring Dr. Hahnemann’s legacy. He articulated the strategic alignment of Homoeopathy with evolving demands for integrative, evidence-based, and patient-centric healthcare systems. Kotecha reaffirmed the Ministry’s pledge to enrich future generations through robust research, innovative education, and supportive policies.

The event featured the release of eight scholarly books, a convention souvenir, e-portals showcasing CCRH Library and Homoeopathy Archives, and a documentary film on drug proving. Together, these resources underscore India’s pivotal role in advancing Homoeopathic knowledge and practice globally. The symposium spotlighted the largest-ever exhibition of the Homoeopathy industry, bridging academic insights with enterprise innovations. Additionally, a groundbreaking national-level competition was hosted to encourage innovation among students and practitioners.

Homoeopathy’s relevance in modern healthcare was underscored through the symposium’s scientific discussions, exhibitions, and paper presentations. The dialogue reiterated the importance of evidence-based therapy, integrating Homoeopathy with existing healthcare frameworks, and nurturing innovation to expand its reach.

This vibrant celebration of World Homoeopathy Day reflected the Ministry of Ayush’s steadfast dedication to driving Homoeopathy’s growth, fostering its integration into global healthcare systems, and ensuring its potential to transform public health outcomes. Through education, research, and collaboration, the Ministry of Ayush has set a global standard for embracing the spirit of Homoeopathy while enhancing healthcare accessibility and efficacy. The event echoed the enduring legacy of Dr. Hahnemann, heralding a brighter and more inclusive future for this compassionate science.
