Among the first speakers was an entrepreneur who ventured into the pet supplies industry, combining medicines and services under one roof. The Prime Minister applauded the beneficiary’s progress and encouraged them to express gratitude to the bank officials who approved their loan. He noted that such gestures not only celebrate personal achievements but also validate the trust and foresight of those who supported their ambitions.
The conversation then turned to Gopi Krishna from Kerala, who transitioned into renewable energy solutions for households after availing a Mudra loan. The Prime Minister highlighted how Krishna’s work under the PM Surya Ghar initiative provided affordable and efficient solar energy solutions, even under challenging climatic conditions. Krishna shared that his monthly income soared to over ₹2.5 lakh, demonstrating the financial empowerment facilitated by the Mudra scheme.
Another inspiring account came from a 23-year-old founder of a café in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, who described her journey from home cooking to entrepreneurial success. She emphasized the importance of financial literacy and risk-taking. The Prime Minister commended her courage and encouraged more young people to utilize government schemes like Mudra loans to achieve their dreams.
Mudassir Naqshbandi from Baramulla, Kashmir, owner of the popular bakery “Bake My Cake,” spoke about his transformation from being a job seeker to a job creator, now employing 42 individuals. The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction at the widespread adoption of UPI for transactions in businesses like Naqshbandi’s, reflecting the digital revolution in India.
Additional stories included entrepreneurs like Suresh from Silvassa, who pivoted from employment to starting his own business in 2022, inspired by the Mudra initiative, and Lavkush Mehra from Bhopal, who expanded a pharmaceutical business from an initial ₹5 lakh loan to a turnover of ₹50 lakh. The Prime Minister emphasized that Mudra Yojana is inclusive and accessible to all, enabling people to take charge of their futures and achieve remarkable growth.
The session also highlighted remarkable women entrepreneurs, including a Raebareli bakery owner and a Manali businesswoman who grew from running a small vegetable shop to managing a thriving ration shop. Their testimonials demonstrated the scheme’s success in fostering empowerment and financial independence among women, who account for a significant proportion of its beneficiaries.
The Prime Minister praised the self-reliance and entrepreneurship fostered by the scheme, citing its monumental achievement of disbursing 52 crore loans, worth ₹33 lakh crore, in its decade-long journey. He remarked on the societal transformation brought by Mudra Yojana, noting how it has instilled financial discipline and created a silent revolution in India’s approach to entrepreneurship. Women, he added, have been among the greatest beneficiaries, leading in both loan repayments and entrepreneurial success.
Reflecting on the growth of the scheme, which now provides loans of up to ₹20 lakh, Narendra Modi expressed his trust in the entrepreneurial spirit of India’s youth. He urged beneficiaries to inspire others, fostering a ripple effect of confidence and self-reliance.
