The fourth edition of Exercise Tiger Triumph, the bilateral tri-service Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) effort between India and the United States, concluded with a grand Distinguished Visitors’ Day (DV Day) on April 11 in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. The exercise showcased seamless collaboration and advanced tactical operations involving the armed forces of both nations. Distinguished officials, including the Flag Officer Commanding Tamil Nadu & Puducherry Naval Area, the US Consul General, Commander US Navy Strike Group Five, and Deputy General Officer Commanding 54 Infantry Division, attended the culminating ceremony.

The DV Day demonstrated an array of complex joint operations executed onshore and offshore at Kakinada. These included standoff and hard beaching maneuvers, slithering operations by elite Special Operations Forces using SC and Mi-17 V5 helicopters, air operations integrated across C-130 aircraft, and coordinated efforts by the Indian Navy, Army, Air Force, as well as the US Navy, Army, and Marine Corps. These operations highlighted the strengthened combat capabilities and interoperability developed between the military forces of India and the United States.

Tiger Triumph 2025 spanned ten days, beginning on April 1 with activities designed to enhance HADR skills and acquaint participants with each other’s methodologies. The exercises also emphasized logistical exchange under the Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement (LEMOA). The participants integrated emerging technologies, setting the stage for more efficient future collaborations.

The harbor phase of the exercise, held from April 1 to April 7 in Visakhapatnam, was an opportunity for knowledge-sharing and technical exchanges. High-ranking dignitaries such as Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy, Mr. Jorgan K. Andrews, and Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, Chief of Staff at Headquarters Eastern Naval Command, attended the opening ceremony. Key activities included Pre-Sail Conferences, Subject Matter Expert Exchanges on technologies such as medical assistance, drones, and space exploration, and cross-deck visits. Participants also engaged in ship boarding drills and friendly sports fixtures, further strengthening the camaraderie between the two nations.

Initiated in 2019, Tiger Triumph aims to fortify operational synergies between India and the United States while fostering mutual trust and collaboration. With every edition, it has evolved into a powerful platform for developing joint capabilities in handling disaster relief situations and integrating advanced technologies.

Exercise Tiger Triumph 2025 stands as a testament to the growing partnership between India and the United States. It underscores the shared commitment to regional stability, effective humanitarian response, and the continuous development of robust military relationships.
