Recent media reports have brought attention to a concerning trend of fraudulent calls and messages targeting consumers. In these instances, scammers pose as officials from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), threatening mobile disconnection under the guise of illegal activities and demanding money from unsuspecting victims.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has clarified that it does not directly communicate with customers regarding the disconnection of mobile numbers through calls, messages, or any other means.
