Trump’s Second Inauguration: A Star-Studded Affair with Global Leaders and Tech Titans

As the world eagerly awaits Donald Trump’s second inaugural address, set to take place late Monday evening, India time, the US capital is abuzz with the arrival of foreign leaders, tech billionaires, and top celebrities. The ceremony, which will be held inside the historic Capitol Rotunda, promises to be a high-profile event breaking several traditions.

Among the notable attendees is India’s Minister of External Affairs, S. Jaishankar, who will represent India at the swearing-in ceremony. Jaishankar is also scheduled to meet with representatives of the incoming administration and other dignitaries visiting the US for the occasion.

In a surprising turn of events, seven Democrats who had boycotted Trump’s first inauguration in 2017 have decided to attend this time, as revealed by Politico. This marks a significant shift in the political landscape, reflecting the evolving dynamics of US politics.

Breaking with tradition, several foreign leaders will be present at the ceremony. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Argentina’s President Javier Milei, Ecuador’s President Daniel Noboa, El Salvador President Nayib Bukele, and former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawieck are among the distinguished guests. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who may not be able to attend, expressed his optimism for the future, stating that “everything will change” after Trump takes office.

Argentina’s President Milei, who has already addressed events at the Milken Centre in Washington DC, hailed Trump’s inauguration as a milestone event in the “global crusade for freedom” and the “clearest evidence that a new era has begun.”

The tech world will also be well-represented, with Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos expected to sit in a “position of honour on the dais,” possibly alongside Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook. This gathering of tech titans underscores the significant role technology will play in the new administration.

Regular attendees include President Joe Biden and Jill Biden, former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton, former President George W. Bush and Laura Bush, and former President Barack Obama, adding to the ceremony’s prestige.

In contrast to 2017, when Team Trump struggled to attract big celebrities and performers, this year’s inauguration ball will feature top stars such as Grammy-winner Nelly, Lee Greenwood, Kid Rock, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Christopher Macchio. The star-studded lineup promises to make the event a memorable celebration.

As millions around the world tune in to witness this historic moment, the atmosphere in Washington DC is electric, with anticipation and excitement building for what promises to be a landmark event in global politics.
