The Ministry of Tourism has unveiled an extensive plan to position Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, as a premier global tourism event. Scheduled from January 13 to February 26, this Poorna Kumbh is expected to attract millions of pilgrims, tourists, and devotees from across the globe, showcasing India’s spiritual and cultural heritage.

A key highlight of the initiative is the Incredible India Pavilion, a 5,000-square-foot space designed to offer an immersive experience for visitors, including foreign tourists, researchers, and journalists. The pavilion will present India’s rich cultural legacy and the spiritual significance of the Kumbh Mela while hosting the Dekho Apna Desh People’s Choice Poll, allowing participants to vote for their favorite destinations in India.

To improve accessibility and comfort for international visitors, the Ministry has introduced a dedicated tourist infoline operating in English, Hindi, and 10 international languages, along with regional Indian languages like Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Assamese, and Marathi. This service aims to provide comprehensive assistance and guidance to enhance the visitor experience.

Promoting Maha Kumbh 2025 through a dynamic social media campaign, the Ministry is using hashtags like #Mahakumbh2025 and #SpiritualPrayagraj to generate excitement and encourage global engagement. The campaign includes contests and collaborative posts with stakeholders like ITDC and UP Tourism, amplifying the event’s visibility.

The Ministry has partnered with key tourism entities such as the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation, IRCTC, and ITDC to offer curated tour packages and luxury accommodations. ITDC has set up 80 luxury accommodations at Tent City in Prayagraj, while IRCTC is providing additional luxury tents to accommodate the influx of visitors. A digital brochure detailing these packages has been distributed to Indian missions and tourism offices worldwide.

To enhance travel connectivity, the Ministry has collaborated with Alliance Air to improve air travel options to Prayagraj, making the city more accessible for domestic and international travelers. This partnership ensures seamless and convenient transportation for attendees.

As part of the initiative, the Ministry plans an extensive photoshoot and videography project to capture the spiritual essence and grandeur of Maha Kumbh. These visuals will be widely shared across national and international media platforms, further promoting Prayagraj as a destination for spiritual and cultural tourism.

The efforts underscore the government’s commitment to making Maha Kumbh 2025 a landmark event on the global tourism map, highlighting India’s unique blend of spirituality, culture, and hospitality.
