Mumbai:- Minister K. Rajan says that the expatriate community, including the Malayalees in Mumbai, is the state’s strength.

Minister K. Rajan stated that the expatriate community, particularly the Malayalees in Mumbai, who stood by the government in overcoming various disasters, including the Chooralmala landslide, is Kerala’s strength. He was speaking as the chief guest at the annual celebration of the Hiranandani Keralaite Association in Mumbai.

The minister also appreciated the Mumbai Malayalees, organizations, and industrialists who extended their support to the victims of the Chooralmala landslide disaster.

President Thomas Olakkal, Secretary A. N. Shaji, Chairman Paul Peringattu, and Treasurer Mathew Maman shared the stage.

The Pawai Hiranandani Keralaite’s Association is one such organization that stood by Kerala during the flood disaster and the landslide tragedy in Wayanad’s Chooralmala. The association’s strength lies in the industrialists who moved from Kerala to Mumbai and achieved success in life. A portion of their earnings is dedicated to charitable activities.

At the event, Minister K. Rajan presented an award to the senior communist leader P. R. Krishnan in recognition of his work. Lion Kumaran Nair and Rajayan, who have made a significant impact in their fields, were also honored.

Later, a musical program presented by renowned doctors in Mumbai, including Dr. Shashikanth Kamath and his colleagues, offered a refreshing new experience.

Minister K. Rajan stated that land tax for properties in Kerala can now be paid online. He also highlighted that all services related to land in Kerala are now available online, making it easier to pay taxes and handle land transfers efficiently.

The minister elaborated that the digitization of Kerala’s industrial revenue departments has significantly simplified procedures. He added that Kerala is currently on a fast track of industrial growth.

Pointing out the benefits of this digitization, the minister emphasized that Kerala ranks first in the country in terms of industrial investment. Minister Rajan also mentioned the strong support received in Mumbai during the roadshow held in preparation for the upcoming Investment Summit scheduled for February 20 and 21.
