As per sources, around 100 teachers enrolled with state-run schools were deployed for a programme of Shastri in Rajgarh district by the district education department for assisting the police. The three-day programme, known as ‘Katha’, was organised from June 26-28 at Khilchipur town in Rajgarh district. However, following objections by the MPSC, the order was withdrawn on June 27.
Responding to the controversy, Karan Singh Bhilala, a senior official in the district education department, told the press that the order was withdrawn soon after receiving objection.
However, MPSC general secretary Ashutosh Pandey told reporters that the controversial order was withdrawn a day before the programme ended after the organisation lodged a protest.
“Teachers are considered second-grade citizens and treated in this manner at the expense of quality education,” he said.
