New Delhi: New Electronics Manufacturing Cluster To Come Up At Pune – Union Minister Rajeev Chandrashekhar. A Electronics Manufacturing Cluster will be developed at Pune’s Ranjangaon area and will be developed at a cost of Rs. 500 crore, informed Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Shri Rajeev Chandrashekhar, today.

The Union Minister addressed a Press Conference at Electronics Niketan, CGO Complex, to inform about the set up of the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Pune, to strengthen its infrastructure base and providing avenues for creating robust electronics manufacturing ecosystem in the country.

Informing further, Shri Chandrashekhar said, considering Maharashtra’s strategic importance towards industrial activity and to unleash new opportunities for electronics sector, the Minister of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has accorded approval to Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) for development of Electronics Manufacturing Cluster. over an area of ​​297.11 acres at Ranjangaon Industrial Area (Phase-III), Pune under EMC 2.0 to address the industrial infrastructure requirement of electronics in the region. The Union Minister underlined that this project has been expedited after rigorous and constant follow up by the Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Eknath Shinde and Dy. Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis.

Once this cluster is set up, it will generate five thousand jobs and will attract an investment of more than 2000 crores, informed the Minister. Adding further, he said, ‘To make Maharashtra into an electronics hub, the GoI has approved the EMC Project in Ranjangaon with a total investment of Rs. 500 crores, and will generate 5000 employment opportunities.

Prior to setting up of this Project in Ranjangaon, Pune, the GoI has already set up EMC at Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Noida. The GoI would be contributing 207.98 crores and balance contribution of Rs. 284.87 crores will be infused by MIDC, Maharashtra.

The EMC is targeted to attract about Rs. 2000 crores and has potential to generate over 5000 employment opportunities in the coming years, he informed.

C- DAC TO PLAY NODAL AGENCY ROLE

The Union Minister apprised, Pune-CDAC will be the Nodal Agency, under the India Semi Conductor Mission and Rs. 1000 crore future design scheme. This would also witness many start ups in the coming times. He added, soon a road show would be organized at Pune to attract many Start Ups in this regard.

All the plots will be equipped with infrastructure requirements like Roads, Drainages, Power and Water Supply, Truck Parking, Business trade and Convention Center and the work has commenced to ensure the completion within next 32 months, he added.
